Dr. Halil Ersin Avcı, born on May 21, 1977, in Ezine, Turkey, is a respected historian and academic known for his profound expertise in the Gallipoli Campaigns and Turkish-British relations. He completed his undergraduate studies in History at Ege University in 1999, followed by a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and Istanbul University, respectively. His doctoral research focused on the Armenian factor in Turkish-British relations, showcasing his depth in international historical dynamics.

Dr. Avcı’s career as a research assistant began at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 1999, where he later became an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education, teaching courses related to the history of the Turkish Republic and the Gallipoli Wars. His academic journey is marked by significant scholarly contributions, including multiple publications on the socio-political impacts of the Gallipoli Campaigns and the role of technology and artificial intelligence in social studies education.

An esteemed member of the Turkish Historical Society’s Science Board from 2012 to 2016, Dr. Avcı has been instrumental in enriching historical research and education in Turkey. His works include notable titles such as “Secret Gate of the Temple” and “Living Çanakkale,” among others, which delve into the intricate details of the Çanakkale War and its representation in various media.
